The Mountain Ground Squirrel (Latin name Xerus princeps) is a rodent that is native to North-West Namibia and Angola. It is also known as the Kaoko Ground Squirrel.
It is a close relative of the Cape Ground Squirrel (Latin name Xenus inauris) but is slightly larger than this species. Both species have have long bushy black and white tails with a white stripe from the shoulder towards the rump.
